Save-Restore Simulations

The two menu items SimSave and SimRestore allow a snapshot of the current simulation to be saved and later restored. The data is stored in a SIM group file (the default name is DEFAULT.SIM, this file is stored in the same directory as the WINDNMR executable). Up to 25 different simulations can be saved to one SIM group file. You can have as many SIM group files as you wish.

To save a simulation click on the SimSave menu item, and select one of the fifteen entries. Type a name in the Input Box, and press OK. The data is saved to the current SIM group file.

To restore the simulation, open the appropriate SIM group file (if not currently open), click the SimRestore menu entry, and select the desired entry.

You can scroll through the various simulations in the current SIM group with the up and down buttons, and save the current simulation to the SIM file with the save button.

Uses. The Save-Restore utility allows a series of simulations to be saved to disk for later use to display specific simulations - in fact, it is the only way that a simulation can be saved. It can also be used during Line Shape Fitting to save a specific set of parameters for later retrieval. The actual spectrum is saved in a compressed form (only that part of the spectrum that was on the screen is saved). When restoring a simulation WINDNMR will, however, try and find the original spectrum used in the line-shape fitting rather than use the truncated spectrum. The Simulation Editor allows extensive editing of the information in SIM Groups in which all simulations are of the same type.
