Combustion of Cellulose Nitrate (Guncotton)

Description: A: Previously prepared gun-cotton is ignited with a flame. B: Guncotton is placed in contact with a small pile of phosphorus pentoxide. Water is squirted at the phosphorus pentoxide, and the heat generated ignites the guncotton. Contrast with regular cotton.
