Rod Climbing by a Polymer Solution

Description: A solution of polyacrylamide in glycerin climbs a vertical rapidly rotating rod (in other word, forms a negative vortex) placed in the solution, whereas a normal liquid will form a depression ( a positive vortex) around the rod.
