This project was initiated by Joe March in 1998 while at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, just prior to leaving for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Joe began with a 7x7 matrix of reactions. The project was continued by his successor Gordon A. Bain, who designed the controls and considerably expanded the scope of the project. In the summer of 1999, Kara Bruce performed the procedures resulting in the movies produced by Jerrold Jacobsen. Gordon A. Bain introduced the matrix of reactions utilizing the movies into the general chemistry laboratory curriculum.
