"Flash Cards - Amino Acids" utilizes the Jmol Java Applet. If you can not view the molecules after loading the program, go to http://www.java.com/ and download the latest Java software. Also, make sure you have Java and Javascript enabled in your browser.
Visit http://jmol.sourceforge.net/ for more information about the Jmol project.
"Flash Cards - Amino Acids" is a virtual flash card program with each flash card containing an amino acid on one "side" and information about the amino acid on the other "side": name, one- and three- letter abbreviations, and the classification of the R-group. You start with a "pile" of twenty cards, each containing a different amino acid. Work your way through the pile by alternately clicking Show Name and Show Next. Feel free to rotate the molecules as they appear on the screen, and to use other Jmol functionality.
As you work your way through the pile, you may remove cards by clicking Remove. The remaining cards are shuffled each time you go through the pile.
Clicking on Toggle Symbols will turn the atom labels on and off. Clicking on Reshuffle will put all the cards back into the pile, shuffle them, and then start over.
