The cube needs very little introduction. From dice, to table salt crystals, to Rubik’s cubes, to Borg space ships — they are part of our daily lives. In chemistry, they are often found in the local surrounding of the atoms of body-centered cubic metals (such as sodium and the other alkali metals, as well as iron). The cube is another of the Platonic solids.
