GOAL(s):
- Understand the differences among actual yield, theoretical yield, and percent yield
- Calculate theoretical and percent yields.
DEFINITIONS:
theoretical yield: the quantity of product theoretically obtainable
from a given quantity of reactant in a chemical reaction.
actual yield: the experimental quantity of product obtained from
a chemical reaction.
percent yield: the ratio of actual yield to the theoretical yield,
multiplied by 100%.
