Preparing the Reference Solution

 

The reference solution should be the same as the solution to be analyzed except that it must have zero concentration of the absorbing species. The best way to prepare a refernce solution is to add everything the same as you would for the solution you use for analysis, but leave out the substance you are analyzing.
