About Subject 4

Unlike molecular chemistry, solid-state chemistry focuses on materials that have repeating structures, called unit cells. A single cell can be used to describe an entire framework by including all repeatable information about the system. Subject 4 will serve as an introduction into a few of the most common structure types, archetypal structures which many other compounds look geometrically similar to.
